As the mother of Toris, Xena, and Lyceus, Cyrene has had a tough time. To protect Xena from her father's abuse, Cyrene killed him. She then had to support herself and her family by running a tavern in Amphipolis. She lost one son, Lyceus, during the rebellion against Cortese, and she hates Xena for turning into a violent warlord. Over time, she accepts her daughter's new path and their loving relationship is restored.
